People light diyas (lamps) and candles, decorate their homes with rangolis (patterns made with colored powder), and burst firecrackers.

  2. Holi: Holi is a spring festival celebrated in March. It is also known as the festival of colors as people throw colored powder and water at each other. It marks the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring.

  4. Christmas: Although Christmas is not a traditional Indian festival, it is celebrated by the Christian community in India. People decorate their homes with Christmas trees and lights and exchange gifts.

  5. Ganesh Chaturthi: Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrated in August or September. It marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god. People install clay idols of Ganesha in their homes and public places and offer prayers and sweets.
